22 weeks

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

It's hard to believe that we are already a little over halfway though the pregnancy. Baby girl is already loved so much I can't even image what it is going to be like when she gets here. Finally got back to my workout routine this week after a almost 2 full weeks out of town for my sister bridal shower and Nate's conference tournament. Taking time off is not as easy as it was before I was pregnant.  I feel like before I could take a week off and jump right back in and be back to where I was in a couple of days.... yeah well those days are over for right now. Needless to say I am thankful that all of the students are gone on campus now because I am pretty sure they looked at me like an alien and thought "man that girl drank way to much beer".  Certain exercises do not flow as easily as they used to. For example the Push Press should be one fluid motion to from the chest to above the head. Well, there is one motion from my arms, a different motion from my boobs, and my belly just does what it wants. That is a whole lot of moment people. :)

A friend is being so nice and allowing me to put all the crap I need to get rid of in her garage sale so that mean that I can start working on baby girls room soon. Thank goodness because the pile of stuff (cloths, shoes, books, stroller, etc...) is starting to get out of control and I can't stand to look at it any more. I am going to do a blog post for my nursery inspiration. Though it would be fun to compare my vision to the finished product later.... (way later).

Brandi is getting married... but not without a bridal shower first!

My sister is getting MARRIED.  Where the heck has time gone? In less than a month she will be walking down the isle to marry one of the best guys I know. But before we rush into that we had to throw her a bridal shower. We wanted to make this shower as much “Brandi” as possible, so we went straight for the big hat garden party theme.  Everyone was asked to wear a big floppy hat or whatever they happen to have in their hat stache.  The day of the shower we had crazy winds and tornado watches.  With a forever-tight hold on our dresses and maybe couple Marylyn Monroe moments the rain held off and the shower turned out perfect.  We held the shower at Brandi’s best friends parents house, which is absolutely gorgeous in it’s self.  I can’t take credit for the décor; Layne (Brandi’s best friend) took our idea and turned it into this gorgeous shower with some amazing details.  My sister Jessica and I got there early to help her setup and our mom did all the yummy food that morning. The beautiful cake and petit fours were made by Harps Bakery Deli in Bentonville.  So with some serious teamwork we were able to pull of this beautiful fun filled shower.

Thank you to the Walters for allowing us to use their home and to all the friends and family who help make this day so special for Brandi. Can’t wait to see you all at the wedding.

20 weeks

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

I have been slacking a little bit.  It has been a crazy last couple of weeks as Nate is in the end of his season and I am just starting my busy season.  Weeks 19 and 20 have been by far the most change I have seen so far. All of the sudden she decided to pop on out and make herself more noticeable. Although the weight is piling on (10 lbs) at least I am starting to look pregnant and not like I just spent a week in the food court. None of my jeans button any more and finding anything I feel I look good in is impossible. Needless to say shopping is not so much fun any more. I have been on the search for a bra that actually fits for over 3 weeks now.  5+ store and 3 returns later I have decided I need to just go to one of the specialty store and get one. It may not be sexy but at least the damn thing will fit. Ladies if you have any suggestions please, don't hold back. No belly pictures this week since I have been out of town but here is one from my sister bridal shower.

We had our 20 week appointment on Tuesday and baby girl is healthy and absolutely perfect already. I want to just stare at these pictures all day long. Everyone keeps saying she already looks like her daddy... of course that would be fine with me! :)

17 weeks

There hasn't been a whole lot of changes the last couple of weeks.  Baby girl is moving around more and more with each passing week.  I was told because of the positioning of my uterus I wouldn't be able to feel her till 20 weeks or later. At 15 weeks I was feeling little twitches and at 16 weeks they were full fledged kicks.  I was laying on the couch one day and I could see her kick when I looked at my stomach so I called Nate over and tried to see if he could feel her. After a couple of minuets of patiently anticipating her next move our eyes got real big and I looked at him and he said "I felt her". Of course Nate thought it was really cool and I held myself back from breaking into tears. This defiantly made my week that Nate got to feel her so early.

Now that we know Baby B is a she I am having a really hard time keeping myself off of Pinterest.  I am so excited to start shopping and putting her nursery together!!

Stretch marks: None
Sleep: It's starting to get a little uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach, which is where I normally sleep.
Best moment this week: Nate getting to feel baby girl kick

Baby Breland is a...............

Monday, April 7, 2014

Well all of those at home gender test were WRONG!! We went in expecting to hear boy and when the nurse told us girl I think we were both shocked.  Nate continued to ask the tech if she was sure and she just kept telling him "I can't tell you 100% sure but 16 weeks a boy should have something" lol...... I think after he woke up the next morning it has set in and the surprise has wore off.  Of course the next day I had to go to Columbia so I made a pit stop and bought a cute outfit. SO SO EXCITED!!

How far along?  16 weeks!
Total weight gain/measurements: Not sure probably around 5. No scales allowed in my house.
Maternity clothes: Nope.
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: Normal
Best moment this week: Getting to see this baby girl!  Omg it was seriously so amazing. We hadn't got to see her since 8 weeks so there was a lot of change to look at. She was moving around like crazy the whole 30 min we got to watch her. AMAZING.
Miss anything? NOPE
Movement: YES!! It feel like little tiny twitches. I was told bc of the positioning of my uterus I wouldn't be able to feel her till later but there is no doubt that what I am feeling is her.
Food cravings: Fried pickles
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing out of the norm
Gender: GIRL!!
Labour signs: Heck no!!
Symptoms: Nothing out of the norm :)
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: April 29th when we get to see our baby girl again!

14 weeks

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

Well it has been an interesting week.  I woke up last Monday with some pains in my lower back area. I have had kidney stone 3 other times and that is very similar to what it felt like just not as intense.  So I chilled out all day and chugged lemon water like no ones business.  The pain eventually went away the next and brought a whole new array of irritations. Lucky, I had a doctors appointment on Wednesday and was able to get some antibiotics to help with it all.  Whew thank goodness that is all over.

Sunday Nate and I decided to go out on a lunch date to Red Lobster (Nate has been talking bout their rolls for weeks now).  When we got home we decided to do..... nothing. Then we got the urge to try some of the at home gender test we found online. Needless to say we are SOOO ready to find out what this baby is.

Chinese Gender test: BOY
Mayan Gender test: BOY
Ring Gender test: BOY
Baking Soda Gender test: ???
So for this one you have to pee in a cut with 2 tbs of baking soda, well the only baking soda that we had is the one that has been in our fridge for years (not sure if it is serving a purpose any more). So I did what the website said and got a little bit of fizz but not much.  The results are supposedly if it fizzes its a boy and if it doesn't fizz its a girl.

I was very tempted not to post this pictures. I really am happy I promise. Nate finds it funny to hold town the trigger to the camera and take 20 pictures in seconds and this "really" face happened to be the only one he got in focus. So there it is, starting to get a little somethin' something' there. (this is an evening picture also and I always look so much bigger in the evening)

How far along?  14 weeks!
Total weight gain/measurements: 4 lbs. The doctor said that is good followed by are you eating health? WELL UGH.... I have been traveling with the baseball team and eating one meal out at least 3 times a week so NO is the answer to that questions.
Maternity clothes: Nope.
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: Hello night sweats! I have always had them sporadically though so not sure this is due to the pregnancy or not.
Best moment this week: Getting to watch my nurse chase little baby B from one side of my stomach to the other. He/she did not want us to hear its heart.
Miss anything? NOPE
Movement: So I told Nate a couple days ago while laying down I thought I felt something but there is so much going on with my body I can't tell between baby and gas.
Food cravings: Sour gummy worms
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing out of the norm
Gender: 3/4 say boy on the wives tails :)
Labour signs: Heck no!!
Symptoms: Kidney stones... BOOO
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: May 5th (the gender ultrasound)

Pregnancy Journal

Thursday, March 20, 2014

Ugh documenting your pregnancy!! If you are like me you have every intensions of being on top of things and documenting every little thing. Well that intention for me lasted a whole week.  I forgot, put it off, and forgot again. What's a girl to do? There are a million different ways that people are documenting their pregnancies these days. Of course there is that evil demon of Pinterst that sucks us all into these great ideas that we can usually never get done (at least this is the case for myself).  When I found out I was pregnant like I said I was going to be on top of things. I created this journal for to fill out each week and that didn't happen, so I am passing this on to you!

Here is what the download will look like AFTER you fill in your week and the baby size. (your download below this image)

The one below is YOURS, as you can see the week number is missing and the size of the baby. To download all you have to do is click on the image and save it to your computer. Once the image is saved open up Microsoft Word click on insert picture.  You will have to change the format of the image so that you can place text over the image to fill in your week and baby size.  Then print and ENJOY!!

Don't forget to follow my blog for more free downloads and giveaways. Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

Brenda
